On June 21, 2019 the Ministry of digital development, communication and mass communications of the Russian Federation announced start in Dubai of the Russian center of digital innovations and ICT. It opened with assistance of the Russian export center in so-called Silicon Valley of the UAE — Dubai Internet City.
This center in the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications is called "springboard" for the Russian companies which are going to expand the presence in the markets of the Middle East and North Africa.
The ambassador of Russia in the UAE Sergey Kuznetsov, the Deputy Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications Mikhail Mamonov, the commercial director of TECOM Abdullah Belkhul, the managing director of DIC Omar Al Malik and the CEO of Al Aroud Group Saleh Al Aroud participated in opening of the Russian center of technology innovations.
Residents of this IT hub will be engaged in creation of new products and services to the sphere of artificial intelligence, a cloud hosting, Big Data, information security, the electronic government, the "smart" cities, electronic education, etc.
The Deputy Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications Mikhail Mamonov in the performance at the opening ceremony of the Russian center of technology innovations emphasized that Russia actively invests in different economies and is going to reach position of one of the largest digital forces in the world. Without local partners it is not so simple to achieve ambitious goals. The deputy minister invited the Russian companies to use the new, developed infrastructure and to expect the help of the Russian government.
The CEO of Rosinfokominvest fund subordinated to the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications Georgy Mikaberidze noted that the new center gives an opportunity cheap to enter the new market.
