2017: Work on a contactless payment project for electric vehicle charging services

On August 28, 2017, Uniteller signed a cooperation agreement with. MIP "Klintek" The parties agreed to work together on a project for contactless payment of charging station services for electric vehicles. The agreement was signed as part of the foundation's business mission Skolkovo in. Kaliningrad

MIP Klintek is developing a line of stations for refueling electric vehicles (EZS) - street, home and corporate (220V 16A schuko - 3.3 kW; 380V 32A Mode 2 - 22 kW; 380V 32A Mode 2 - 22 kW). As of August 2017, issues were worked out on the interface with control functions, monitoring carried out by electric charging stations, billing with an interactive map with ESV applied to it, as well as data exchange between the car, ESV and the user.

According to Uniteller, recently the relevance of this type of service has been increasing due to the state policy of encouraging the development of electric transport and the impending widespread introduction of electric refueling at gas stations, as well as due to the widespread use of such small forms of electric transport as electric scooters, gyro scooters, sigways. The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation has formed a draft program for the development of electric transport until 2025, which provides for monetary and non-monetary measures to support and stimulate the use of such transport.

Meanwhile, the problem of many charging stations, especially Russian-made ones, is the imperfection of payment systems. In Russian charging stations, as a rule, RFID-card technology is used, the inconvenience of which is that these cards must be purchased somewhere in advance. Previously, the possibility of embedding a regular payment terminal was considered, but this is also not entirely convenient, since theoretically any attacker with a bank card can pay for a charging session, unlock and steal a vehicle.

As a result, cashless payment for electric charging included in one common application is recognized as the best way. The joint development of such a project by Klintek and Uniteller will allow electric stations to gain competitive advantages associated with increasing convenience for users and the inclusion of refueling points in a single Internet of Things system .

The advent of contactless payment for electric vehicle charging stations is a serious and innovative step for the industry. We monitor trends in the field of electronic payments, strive to quickly provide modern services to our customers and create optimal conditions for their work in Russia. Contactless payment technologies, we hope, will be able to give impetus to the development of cashless payments, and in particular transport infrastructure, - said Alexey Bogatkin, CEO of Uniteller.
