2023: Aquarius launches new production of motherboards and tablets based on them

On June 21, 2023, Aquarius announced that it had launched a To Shuya new line at the plant to produce motherboards its own design, doubling the installation capacity, and established mass production of new ones on tablet computers a single platform using these boards.

According to the company, the total investment in the purchase of high-tech equipment for the production of motherboards amounted to 460 million rubles, of which 366.5 million rubles in the form of a preferential loan at 1% under the Component Products program was provided by the Federal Industrial Development Fund (FRP).

Using the funds of the FRP loan, the company Aquarius"" acquired a line for the installation of motherboards, a robotic line for output installation and an automated workshop for assembling servers of its own design. This equipment solders motherboards for their own servers - they are used in, servers Aquarius designed for HPC and processing, large amounts of data building DPC and infrastructure of various "smart" solutions.

Also, this equipment is used to produce boards for other devices of the company, including for thin and light Aquarius Cmp NS220RE tablets.

The new tablet, developed by Aquarius engineers, continues the line of NS220 devices, has an enlarged screen up to 10.5. " The basis of the tablet is a motherboard of its own design and assembly, including using domestic ECB. The manufactured boards for servers and personal computers, as well as tablets, are included in the unified register of Russian radio electronic products (ERRREP) of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.

The launch of the equipment allowed Aquarius to increase the volume of installation of domestic boards, which made it possible to increase the production of finished products. This will help optimize the level of localization of the production of Russian computer equipment and will allow satisfying the needs of the domestic market for domestic devices, the company expects.

Within the framework of the project implemented with the support of the FRP, 45 high-performance jobs were created at the enterprise in Shui.

Earlier, on June 15, 2023, the company signed an agreement with the Industrial Development Fund to finance the project. Investments in the second project will amount to 2.85 billion rubles, of which 2.26 billion rubles were provided by the FRP in the form of a preferential loan under the Priority Projects program. As part of the project at the site "Aquarius" in Tver will be launched serial assembly production of server equipment, computers, all-in-ones, laptops, tablets and smartphones. It is planned to create 1,025 jobs, of which 878 are high-performance.

2022: Plan to increase production space

On September 20, 2022, it became known that the Aquarius group is increasing the production area of ​ ​ its plant in Shuy (Ivanovo region) by 1.5 times. The area of ​ ​ the complex is 14 thousand square meters. m and will be increased to 21 thousand square meters. m. Investments in development will amount to 1.5 billion rubles.

At the Shui plant, Aquarius manufactures servers, data storage systems (DSS), personal computers, laptops, tablets, all-in-ones, printers and multifunctional devices (MFPs ). In addition, motherboards of the company's own design are also produced there.

Aquarius also has another production site. In March 2022, he acquired the American manufacturer's plant electronic engineers Jabil in. Tver The total area of ​ ​ this production complex is 27 thousand square meters. m

Together with the plant, the company took to itself several dozen dismissed employees from production. Among them are technologists, engineers, operators, etc. Total investments in the project, according to company representatives, will amount to 5 billion rubles.

Additional production areas will focus on high-tech workplaces, including robotic assembly lines. All this will allow already at the end of 2023 to get the total production capacity of two plants of 2.5 million devices, - said Vladimir Stepanov.

After modernization by 2025, the Shui plant will be able to produce 1.2 million (0.9-1 million as of September 2022) devices. The production complex in Tver will begin work in October, the company said. By 2025, 1.5 million devices of the same class as in Shui will be produced there.

Thus, in three years, two plants will be able to jointly produce 2.7 million devices against 0.9-1 million per Russian^[1].

2020: Doubled production capacity - from 400 thousand to 800 thousand devices per year

On August 5, 2020, it became known that the Russian manufacturer of computer equipment "Aquarius" doubled the production capacity of its plant in the city of Shuya, Ivanovo Region - from 400 thousand to 800 thousand devices per year - by putting into operation additional workshops with a modern belt conveyor and high-speed surface and pin mounting lines. Investments in the project amounted to $5 million, another $10 million will be invested in the modernization of the company's production in the next two years.

Previously, Aquarius manufactured a number of motherboards for its products, memory modules, specialized controllers, trusted loading modules at the Shui plant, and also fulfilled orders as a contract manufacturer. Upgrading production will allow the company to install all types of motherboards at its enterprise, as well as double production volumes.

According to our estimate, in 2019 the volume of the Russian computer technology market reached 480 billion rubles, the share of domestic equipment amounted to about 13%. The state is consistently developing measures to support domestic manufacturers of micro- and radio electronics, trying to deploy purchases of companies with state participation and state authorities in the direction of domestic products. Counting on the development of demand dynamics for computer equipment of domestic production, we already in August 2020 doubled the capacity of our production - up to 800 thousand devices per year. In the near future, it is planned to increase this figure to a million units of computer equipment per year, "says Vladimir Stepanov, president of Aquarius.

The launched surface mounting line installs all types of electronic components on the printed circuit board and is equipped with automatic optical inspections (AOIs), which allow you to automatically monitor the critical stages of assembly of the printed circuit unit, such as the quality of solder paste application and installation of components before and after soldering. All finished printing units undergo additional soldering control on the X-ray installation, which allows detecting defects inaccessible to visual systems. The presence of such control stages raises production to a level that meets the highest international standards.

The pin mounting line includes automated solder wave soldering units for mixed mounting and cleaning of printed circuit boards after soldering. The production room for the installation of equipment has been modernized, an updated air conditioning and anti-static protection system has been installed.

At the beginning of August 2020, the area of ​ ​ Aquarius production is 11,300 square meters, including the SMT and THT workshop, two workshops for conveyor electrical and locksmith assembly of final products, a server workshop, a slipway assembly workshop, as well as an additional sample control chamber for collected products at elevated temperature.

The company's immediate plans include the construction of an additional production building and an automated warehouse. A site for the manufacture of specialized technological equipment will also be launched, which will also include the manufacture of in-circuit and functional control stands, soldering masks, etc. developed at the enterprise. Thus, Aquarius plans to use the technological equipment of its own plant in the future, increasing the speed of launching products into production.

The development of production is inseparable from the development of the division leading the development of products and its key components - the technical directorate of Aquarius, whose staff has recently been seriously expanded. The company actively engages specialists to accelerate the development and launch of product models in each product group.

In the summer of 2014, a new production room with an area of ​ ​ 1572 m ² was opened, due to which the total area of ​ ​ the plant increased to 9782 m ². The new workshop is a separate, specially prepared room for slipway assembly of computer equipment and specialized electronic equipment, and, if necessary, can serve as an additional warehouse, which allows you to scale production facilities depending on seasonal load.
