Agreement with Astra Linux to support domestic hardware and software manufacturers
Astra Linux GC (RusBITech-Astra LLC) and the Computer Engineering Consortium (ANO VT) signed a memorandum of intent, according to which support programs for domestic hardware and software manufacturers will be developed in order to increase the share of Russian solutions in the IT market. This was announced on August 26, 2020 by Svetlana Legostaeva, General Director of the Computing Technology consortium.
The agreement provides for the development and implementation of partner programs to support various kinds of cooperation between domestic manufacturers of equipment and software. The main goal is to promote the development of the electronic products market by creating competitive IT products.
The possibilities of domestic solutions are growing every day, as is the need for them. The interaction of leading players in the information technology market in terms of the development of joint software and hardware technology stacks meets the requirements of import substitution. The availability of ready-made basic complex solutions greatly facilitates the transition of government organizations to domestic IT products and provides additional support for the production of electronic products.
The Astra Linux GC strategy involves the expansion of partner programs, including with domestic equipment manufacturers, cooperation with which is defined as a priority. In this direction, a number of steps have already been taken by the group of companies. The Ready for Astra Linux testing and certification program made it possible to form a wide ecosystem around it and increase the number of software and hardware compatible with the OS. Also, as support for the developers of domestic radio electronics in August 2020, the vendor released special assemblies of distributions of Astra Linux operating systems for Russian computer assemblies. These OS versions have a special price, which is lower than the cost of the standard distribution, even if the equipment is assembled on foreign processors. When using Russian processors, the approach to pricing for a special OS distribution is even more loyal. These initiatives will become the basis for partner programs with ANO VT.
| "The radio electronics market is complex. Its condition largely determines the prospects for the IT market and the digital economy as a whole. An excellent reserve has already been created in order to significantly reduce dependence on Western production in the coming years. And we understand how necessary the coordinated work of all interested parties - government agencies, developers, manufacturers, customers and users - is in order to make a technological breakthrough. It is for this purpose that industry consortia are created. On our part, the attitude towards colleagues in the workshop is as loyal as possible. We have always supported them and will support them both by initiative work on adapting our releases and special pricing, and by joint programs in the field of research and education, "said Ilya Sivtsev, CEO of Astra Linux Group. |
| Our first priority is to increase the share of Russian computer technology in the domestic market. The issue of support from the software community is especially critical when it comes to promoting equipment on domestic processors. The development of technological cooperation between leaders in the field of system and applied software, as well as radio electronics, allows the formation of Russian competitive software and hardware complexes that comprehensively meet the requirements of the import substitution policy, "said Svetlana Legostaeva, General Director of ANO VT. |
