The criminals convinced the former police officer of the possibility of avoiding criminal prosecution through cooperation, offering to transfer funds to a "safe account." According to their instructions, the woman visited several bank branches, where she withdrew the required amount in small parts, allegedly to prevent information leakage to potential accomplices.

On February 11, 2025, the victim transferred the entire amount to the accounts indicated by the attackers. Realizing the fact of fraud on February 12, 2025, she filed a complaint with law enforcement agencies.

On the fact of embezzlement of funds, a criminal case was initiated under the article "fraud." Operational-search measures are being carried out to establish the identities of criminals and their whereabouts.

Security professionals emphasize the need to be more vigilant when making phone calls from people who appear to be law enforcement officers and not to make financial transactions under pressure from unknown persons, even if they cite authoritative sources.[1]
