Center for X-ray, Synchrotron and Neutron Research opened in Russia
In Russia, in September 2024, the Center for X-ray, Synchrotron and Neutron Research was opened, which will become a key scientific platform for coordinating research in these areas. The new center was created on the basis of Novosibirsk State University (NSU) and is aimed at developing scientific projects related to the use of advanced radiation technologies. Opening a world-class campus. 7.4 billion rubles invested in it
At the end of July 2024, the grand opening of the first stage of the new campus of Novosibirsk State University (NSU) took place in Novosibirsk Akademgorodok. Investments in the project amounted to ₽7,4 billion.
According to the rector of NSU Academician Mikhail Fedoruk, the new campus significantly expands the educational capabilities of the university. As part of the first stage of construction, the educational and leisure buildings of the Specialized Educational and Scientific Center (SSC) of NSU, as well as a complex of hostels for 690 beds, were put into operation.
The educational building of the SUNC NSU with an area of 11,500,5 square meters. m is designed to teach 625 students. It houses modern classrooms, lecture halls and 14 educational and scientific laboratories equipped with advanced equipment for research in the fields of physics, chemistry, biology and engineering sciences.
The leisure center with an area of 8,549 square meters. m includes a music and rehearsal complex with a recording studio, a video studio, dance and choral halls, as well as a transformable assembly hall with 580 seats. In addition, the building houses a sports block, a library complex with a museum and coworking spaces, as well as one of the most modern planetariums beyond the Urals.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, who was present at the opening, noted the uniqueness of the Novosibirsk Academgorodok as a world famous research center.

The construction of the NSU campus is one of the key projects of the Akademgorodok 2.0 program.
