Change of name and work strategy

In April 2025, the Federal Center for Applied Development artificial intelligence (FCPR AI) announced Ministry of Industry and Trade Russia the change of name to the Center for Industrial Technologies (CIT) and the expansion of activities. The transformation of the organization will cover the entire cycle of digitalization: from basic automation to the integration of complex AI algorithms into production chains.

According to the RR platform, the head of CIT Eduard Shantaev stressed that the name change is a strategic step, and not just a rebranding. According to him, the goal of the center is to ensure the operation of technologies at all stages of production, and not only in the final part of the process.

The federal center for the applied development of artificial intelligence, subordinate to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, has changed its name and work strategy

During the year of work, the Center proved the effectiveness of artificial intelligence as a working tool for the real sector of the economy. In 2024, 35% of industrial enterprises began to implement AI solutions with the support of the organization's experts. Among the successful examples is the Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant, where algorithms predict equipment breakdowns, reducing downtime by 15%. In the medical field, models have been developed for diagnosing cancer with an accuracy of 90%, which are already being tested in clinics.

CIT not only develops technologies, but also removes barriers to their implementation. 43 open datasets have been prepared for business, covering areas ranging from predictive equipment repair to medical diagnostics. Small businesses gain access to the 16 petaflops Collective Use Center's supercomputers, and exporters can count on the support of "digital attachés" in 15 countries.

Eduard Shantaev notes the growing demand for end-to-end solutions from companies that need not just a neural network, but a whole ecosystem that combines data, analytics and process management.[1]
