History

2018

Opening of Biocad of the master program "Bioengineering and Biomedicine"

On June 14, 2018 the biotechnology company Biocad announced opening based on St. Petersburg chemical and pharmaceutical university (SPHFU) Ministry of Health Russia of the master program "Bioengineering and Biomedicine" under the patronage. The first set will make 15 people. In more detail here.

Renaming of academy into the university

On February 6, 2018 the St. Petersburg state chemical and pharmaceutical academy (SPHFA) is renamed into the St. Petersburg state chemical and pharmaceutical university (SPHFU).

2012: Opening of Biocad of Department of technology of recombinant proteins

In 2012 based on the St. Petersburg chemical and pharmaceutical academy the department of technology of recombinant proteins was opened by biotechnology company Biocad.

The department conducts training in several disciplines for students of the directions: "biotechnology" and "chemical technology", teachers are leading specialists of the company, and practical lessons are performed based on R&D-центра Biocad in St. Petersburg.

The 1990th years

On April 24, 1996 SPHFI is renamed into the St. Petersburg state chemical and pharmaceutical academy (SPHFA).

In 1990 LHFI is renamed into the St. Petersburg Chemical and Pharmaceutical Institute (SPCPI).

Since January, 1965 the institute is granted the right to accept doctoral dissertations to protection, to award an academic degree of the doctor of pharmaceutical, biological, chemical sciences.

1952-1958

In 1958 the correspondence department of training of pharmacists at pharmaceutical faculty is opened. In two years the faculty of improvement of pharmacists and engineering employees of the medical industry opens.

Since September, 1957 as a part of institute there is a research laboratory of medicines (NIL).

In 1952 at institute the department of research works (DRW) for accomplishment of hozdogovorny research works is organized.

1945-1949

In 1949 the name "Leningrad Chemical and Pharmaceutical Institute" (LCPI) is appropriated to institute, it is specialized as a higher educational institution for training of chemical engineers-technologists and engineers-microbiologists for the chemical and pharmaceutical plants and the plants on production of antibiotics.

In 1945 in LFI the technology faculty will be organized.

1924-1937

On October 9, 1925 this faculty was transferred to the 1st Leningrad medical institute, and on January 1, 1937 the faculty is selected in the independent Leningrad Pharmaceutical Institute (LPI).

On September 8, 1924 the institute was reorganized into chemical and pharmaceutical faculty of the Leningrad state university.

1919: Background

On October 22, 1919 in Petrograd the Petrograd state chemical and pharmaceutical institute (PHFI) was founded. Opening of institute became a result of a long way of fight of domestic pharmacy for the right for pharmacists to full-fledged higher education. That day the constituent meeting of temporary council of PHFI made the decision on opening of the main departments of institute and approved regulations on a newly created higher educational institution. Outstanding figures of domestic science academicians V.L. Komarov, L.A. Orbeli, G.A. Nadson were the first part of council of institute. The wonderful reformer of pharmaceutical education professor Alexander Semyonovich Ginzberg was unanimously elected the first director of institute. In the summer of 1922 the first release of specialists took place. To five graduates was the candidate's degree is appropriated.
