Transfer of 50% to the state

The Rodnikovsky District Court of the Ivanovo Region decided to seize in favor of the state half of the shares of the Russian Riga Bread LLC, previously owned by Latvian citizen Normund Bomis. This became known on August 18, 2025.

The value of the confiscated assets is estimated at ₽1,7 billion, and the decision itself was the result of a lawsuit by the Prosecutor General's Office to suppress the extremist activities of the owner of the company's Latvian share. The court ruling also recognized the Latvian Ziedot.lv Foundation as an extremist organization and banned its activities in Russia.

According to Kommersant, the trial was initiated by the Prosecutor General's Office on charges of extremist activities against Normund Bomis, Ukrainian Tatyana Prikhodko and the specified charitable foundation. Law enforcement agencies have established that the accused are members of the association of bakery enterprises with a pronounced anti-Russian orientation.

According to the case file, this association includes the Kyiv LLC Khlebny Gourmet and the Latvian LLC Lielezers. The structure of the association covers enterprises in several countries and coordinates activities directed against the interests of Russia.

The investigation established that Normund Bomis and Tatyana Prikhodko used their shares in Riga Bread to finance the Ukrainian paramilitary groups Azov and Aydar, which are recognized as terrorist organizations and banned in Russia.

The materials of the case indicate that in the period from 2023 to 2025, the Latvian citizen transferred through the fund Ziedot.lv more than $36.8 thousand for the purchase of weapons and ammunition. The funds were directed to support military operations against the Russian armed forces.[1]

According to RBC, the Prosecutor General's Office sent an administrative lawsuit to the court on July 15 in the interests of Russia and in defense of the rights of an indefinite circle of persons. The agency demands to ban in the country an association that includes Riga Bread LLC and Khlebny Gourmet LLC registered in Ukraine, Lielezers LLC and the fund registered in Latvia Ziedot.lv.

The prosecutor's office also demands to recognize the owners of these companies as extremist - a citizen of Latvia and a citizen of Ukraine. The lawsuit states that this association carries out extremist activities and serves as a source of funding for such actions.

The Prosecutor General's Office demanded that 50% of the shares in the authorized capital of Riga Bread LLC be turned into state income, at the expense of which the financial base of the association is formed. The agency also insists on recognizing certain information on the Internet as prohibited for distribution in Russia, but the press service of the court does not specify the specific content of this information.

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Riga Bread LLC, registered in the Ivanovo Region, has two founders. These are a citizen of Latvia Normunds Bomis and a citizen of Russia Sergeys Sirenko, who own equal shares worth just over ₽10 million each.[2]
