Strategic Partnership Agreement with Softline

IT company Softline and DSTU will develop new products and technologies for the development of intelligent transport systems. The agreement on strategic partnership and cooperation was signed by the rector of the reference university Besarion Meskhi and the director of business development in the region of SoftLine Trade JSC Alexander Kunitsyn, Softline reported on May 24, 2021.

Scientists of DSTU and employees of Softline will conduct scientific research in the field of creating digital technologies for intelligent transport systems, technologies of the Internet of things for use in the agro-industrial complex, digital transformation of education and piloting projects based on the Smart City platform.

2011: Media Park

The media park was created on October 20, 2011 together with the Rostov media group "Southern Region" and DSTU.

The media park "Southern Region-DSTU" and the department "Mass Communications and Multimedia Technologies" created in DSTU are an innovative project in the field of media education. The goal of the project is to create an educational and production complex that unites the university, media industry enterprises and cultural and entertainment facilities. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to train specialists in the field of the media industry, modernize the system of regional television and radio broadcasting, and create a stable model for supporting startups in the media and IT business.

On October 20, 2011, Microsoft and the Don State Technical University (DSTU, Rostov) signed, during the XI International Business Forum in Rostov-on-Don, an agreement on cooperation in the application of information technologies in the educational process and the development of innovations in the southern regions of Russia.

As part of the agreement, Microsoft will provide technological support to the first media park in the Southern Federal District, launched on October 20, 2011.

"Without Microsoft, it is hardly possible to promote new technologies - this is software support, these are preferential opportunities for promotion in the education of our students, graduate students, teachers and doctoral students," the rector of DSTU Besarion Meskhi explained to reporters.

According to Alexei Reshtenko, director of Microsoft's regional sales department in Russia, who signed the agreement, "the media park is a project that allows students to get a laboratory, the opportunity to create media products and promote them in the way that is done in modern conditions."

As Reshtenko noted, DSTU students will need Microsoft's experience in developing Internet television technologies and services in order to create popular media products.

Microsoft, in turn, will provide a media park of technology for organizing a data center (data center) and the possibility of using cloud technologies.

"Microsoft works with education in all regions of Russia, including Rostov-on-Don, while DSTU has been one of the key partners of the company in the region for ten years.
