2025: Bank "Russia" bought the Crimean winery for ₽1,85 billion

The company "Southern Project" controlled by the bank "Russia" bought the Crimean winery for ₽1,85 billion. The property of the enterprise was part of Alef-Vinal. The portfolio of the plant includes the brandy brand "Old Crimea" and wine Villa Krim. Production itself has stopped. More than ₽1,7 billion will need to be invested for modernization and restart. The contract was concluded on September 22, 2025.

According to Kommersant, the Crimean authorities sold 100% in the Crimean Winery JSC to the Southern Project company. The information is published on the portal torgi.gov.ru. The main owner of the "Southern Project" is JSC "AB" Russia. "" The bank owns a 99.9% stake in the company.

In 2017, the Southern Project acquired the Novy Svet local champagne wine factory for ₽1,55 billion. In 2020, the company invested ₽5,32 billion in the purchase of Massandra.

JSC "Crimean Winery" unites the assets of "Alef-Vinal" nationalized in 2023. The company was controlled by Ukrainian businessman Vadim Ermolaev. Ukrainian Forbes estimated his fortune at $220 million in 2021. Alef-Vinal was one of the largest alcohol producers in Crimea.

The portfolio of brands of the plant includes budget wines Villa Krim and cognac "Old Crimea." The assets of the enterprise contain 687 hectares of vineyards. WineRetail CEO Alexander Stavtsev noted that the vineyards are equipped with a drip irrigation system. This is important for Crimea, which is facing droughts.

The capacity of the wine production site is 969 thousand decaliters per year. The capacity for the production of cognac reaches 309 thousand decaliters. Production facilities are not valid. There is no wine material. Production can be resumed from the purchased distillate.

The vineyards require trellis restoration and vines planting. Investments are estimated at ₽1,1 billion and ₽605 million, respectively. The financial plan of the Crimean winery provides for sales of ₽3 billion by 2030.[1]
